Kuna — Terms of Use
Effective date: 28 August 2025
1) Who we are and what this is
Kuna is an iOS app published by Systems Mystery Limited ("we", "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Kuna app (the "App").
Kuna is an independent client for the open‑source Vikunja task platform. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Vikunja project or any hosting provider.
2) Using Kuna
To use Kuna you must comply with these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple LAEULA), which applies by default to iOS apps. If there is a conflict, the Apple LAEULA controls for licensing matters.
3) Accounts and access
Kuna does not create or host user accounts. You sign in with an account provided by your chosen Vikunja server (self‑hosted or third‑party). The terms and policies of that server apply to your account and data.
You are responsible for:
- ensuring you have permission to access the server;
- keeping your credentials secure (including any TOTP/2FA codes);
- the actions you take within the App.
4) Your data and how Kuna works
Kuna acts as a client to your server. Task data is requested from and written to your server under your direction. We do not operate the servers that store your content.
The App may store a local cache on your device to improve performance and offline access. You can remove cached data by deleting the App or using in‑app options where provided. We do not receive your task data unless you separately send it to us (e.g., for support).
5) Calendar and notifications (optional)
If you grant permission, Kuna can:
- write read‑only events to the Apple Calendar app to mirror tasks with due dates via EventKit; and
- send local notifications.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Calendar data created by Kuna is stored on your device/iCloud according to your Apple settings; no copies are sent to us.
6) Payments
Kuna includes no in‑app purchases, subscriptions, or paid features. If you pay a third party to host your Vikunja server, that is outside the App and governed by that third party's terms.
7) Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including by:
- violating laws or third‑party rights;
- attempting to access servers or accounts without authorization;
- introducing malware or interfering with networks.
8) Third‑party services
Your use of Vikunja servers and any hosting provider is subject to their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for those services, their availability, or their security.
9) No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.
10) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Systems Mystery Limited will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising from your use of the App. Our aggregate liability for any claims relating to the App will not exceed £50.
11) Suspension or termination
We may suspend or end your ability to use the App if you violate these Terms or if continued operation would pose risk. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
12) Changes to the App or these Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
13) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction (without regard to conflict‑of‑laws principles).

16) Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
